Wever & Ducré is a Belgian design lighting company founded in the early 1980s in Roeselare (Belgium), now headquartered in Kortrijk. The brand's very name reflects its philosophy: in a country with multiple official languages — Flemish and French — the founders chose a name that would sound equally natural in both. The initials stand for the company's founding values: werklust, vertrouwen, enthousiasme, durf en creativiteit (work ethic, confidence, enthusiasm, daring, and creativity). Its motto, "Life is too short for boring lighting", captures its commitment to lighting with personality.

Wever & Ducré is known for its minimalist design and experimentation with materials: aluminium with powder-coat, sandblast or rust-effect finishes; marble; recycled PET felt; and hand-blown glass. 90% of its collection is shipped directly from its warehouse in Belgium. Since 2014 it has collaborated annually with international street artists for its catalogue covers, turning each edition into a work of art. Collections available at Insmat Caldes include DRO (table and floor lamp with hand-blown glass globe and matte black aluminium base), Tapis Soft (LED wall light with acoustic function) and SCAVA (architectural indirect lighting with a sculptural form).
