This classification guarantees protection against water splashes from any direction and against the ingress of solid particles larger than 1 mm.

For this purpose, the best option is a wall light that emits light both upwards and downwards (up & down), distributing illumination evenly across the face. The ideal installation height is between 180 and 190 cm from the floor, or approximately 20-30 cm above the mirror.

Mirrors with integrated LED: An increasingly popular solution that combines mirror and wall light in a single piece. Colour temperature: how it affects the bathroom experience

The colour temperature of a bathroom wall light has a direct impact on how we perceive the space and on the functionality of the lighting. For bathrooms there are two criteria that sometimes conflict: wellbeing and precision.

Warm light (2700-3000K) creates a relaxing, flattering atmosphere for skin tone, ideal for a bathroom oriented towards rest and relaxation. Neutral light (3500-4000K) offers greater colour accuracy and is better suited to precision tasks such as applying make-up or shaving. The most versatile option is a model with a dimmable LED that allows both intensity and colour temperature to be adjusted depending on the time of day and how the space is being used.

To install a bathroom wall light in zones 1 and 2 (within 60 cm of the bath or shower, up to 2.25 m in height) a minimum of IP44 is required. This classification guarantees protection against water splashes from any direction. All bathroom wall lights in our range meet this requirement. Zone 0 (inside the bath or shower tray) requires IP67, but wall lights are not installed in that zone.

At what height should a bathroom wall light be installed above the mirror?

The recommended height for installing a wall light above the bathroom mirror is 180 to 190 cm from the floor, which places it approximately 20-30 cm above the mirror. If the wall light is placed to the sides of the mirror instead of above it, the ideal position is at eye level, between 155 and 165 cm from the floor, to ensure front-facing, shadow-free illumination.

What colour temperature is best for the bathroom?

It depends on the primary use of the bathroom. For precision tasks such as applying make-up or shaving, neutral light at 3500-4000K offers better colour accuracy and reduces shadows. For a bathroom focused on relaxation, warm light at 2700-3000K creates a cosier atmosphere that is more flattering to skin tones. The most versatile option is a wall light with a tunable LED, which allows you to adjust between warm and neutral depending on the time of day.

Does a mirror with integrated LED require special electrical installation?

Not necessarily. Most integrated LED mirrors in our range connect to the standard 220V mains supply via cable and wall rose, just like any standard wall light. Some models include a built-in touch switch and dimming function without the need for an external dimmer. We always recommend that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially in wet zones.

What is the difference between a bathroom wall light and a standard wall light?
