LODES: Italian decorative lighting from Venice since 1950 | Insmat Caldes

LODES is an Italian decorative lighting company founded in 1950 in Venice by Angelo Tosetto, driven by a passion for Murano blown glass. Over more than 70 years the company has evolved through three generations of the Tosetto family: Andrea Tosetto modernised the brand, renaming it Studio Italia Design and relocating the headquarters to Marcon (Venice); his son Massimiliano Tosetto, current General Manager, led the definitive rebranding to LODES in 2020 — on the occasion of the 70th anniversary — a name evoking the Latin-Italian lodes (praise), fusing the concepts of love (LO) and design (DES). Today LODES is present in more than 90 markets with its own spaces in Milan, Paris, Cologne and New York.

Murano blown glass is the DNA of LODES: each piece is handcrafted by Venetian glass masters whose techniques have been passed down for centuries. The brand collaborates with internationally acclaimed designers — with Luca Nichetto as Design Curator — and has developed iconic collections such as Volum (modular composition of glass spheres) and Oblò. All proprietary LED light sources offer CRI 90 or above and colour temperatures of 2700K or 3000K, with variations within the 3rd MacAdam ellipse for perfect colour consistency. In 2021 the exclusive Diesel Living with Lodes collaboration was launched.
