Contardi is an Italian decorative lighting company founded by Michele Carcano, who honed his expertise working for Stilnovo — one of the first companies to build a reputation as a lighting design firm in Italy. Headquartered in Cesano Maderno (Brianza), the heart of the Made in Italy design and manufacturing district, Contardi launched its first own-brand collection in 2006. Today the company is led by the founder's heirs, Achille and Paola Carcano, building on over 30 years of collaborations with iconic Italian design brands including Giorgetti and Armani Casa, with its own branch in New York since 2015.

Internationally known as the "Couturier of Contemporary Lighting", Contardi defines its style as archi-decorative: a fusion of architectural rigour and decorative sumptuousness. Its collections combine noble materials — brass with artisanal multi-step finishes, exclusive fabrics, mouth-blown glass by Venetian masters — with cutting-edge LED technology.
